We are here to provide support and serve underserved families and the communities.
T.I.P will be a place to awaken the gifts and purpose that lie within adolescents, that will allow them to become productive women and men. The after-school program is committed to developing Professional Development and Entrepreneurial life skills.
“Innovative Arts” Program is for children interested in the performing arts; these bi-weekly sessions will allow children to express themselves through the Arts and the power of Spoken Word.
“My Lens” is offered bi-weekly as well, this program will teach firsthand fundamental photography techniques that teaches how to capture the beauty of stolen moments.
W.R.A.P “Writing And Reading Authentically For A Purpose”, our daily writing enhancement program, helps students become authors.
“Apply It” sessions will address self-esteem and self-imaging concerns.
“Heath and Wellness” will provide the youth with an opportunity to participate in workout videos emphasizing the importance and significance of daily exercise for mind and body to align.
Professional Development
This thought-provoking course is designed to prepare middle school members with the knowledge they need to discover who they are. The course will develop a growth mindset and provide the foundation for 21st Century learning skills, such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. At the end of the course, participants will record their experience and explain what career path they think they would like to pursue.
This eight-week course will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays an hour.
Screenwriting
This will be the place for aspiring screenwriters. In this fun expansive course participants will be able to use their imagination and create their own work of art. Participants will be able to comprehend the process of screenwriting, all while tapping into their creative mind. This engaging course will teach story structure, character creation, dialogue and action line writing, storytelling, and pitching. Participants will write and revise their own screenplay. At the end of the course, participants will record, select their cast members, and act out the first two pages of their screenplay.
This four-week course will meet Tuesdays and Thursday for an hour each day.
Creative Writing
This fun inspired course is designed for participants to become published authors. This course will expand their vocabulary and develop their writing skills. On this journey of becoming an author, participants will gain an understand of the authors purpose and goal, giving characters a unique way to speak, creating visualization, creating suspense, and developing chapter topics. At the end of the course, participants will become a published author and will set up a book launch to promote their book.
This four-week course will meet Mondays and Wednesdays for an hour each day.
Spoken Word – Available Summer of 2023
Spoken Word is designed to be an artistic outlet to allow participants to express themselves. The class encourages the participants to embrace and embody who they are becoming through various modes of expression (poetry, rap, song), build self-esteem, translate feelings and thoughts to paper where their story can be heard, valued, and appreciated. This class facilitates tolerance and acceptance of the differences in our communities. By the end of this course, participants will be able to perform their most impactful piece of work to demonstrate a full understanding of the Art of Spoken Word.
This five-week course will meet Tuesday and Thursday for an hour.
Financial Literacy
This financial literacy course was design to teach the basic foundational financial skills that constructs a healthy financial foundation that leads to a brighter future.
